Marjorie Picard
Hi! I'm Marjorie Picard, RN. I have worked as a school nurse and retired several years ago. My students were mostly preschoolers and primary grade kids. I enjoyed the work very much and would like to write articles for parents to expand their knowledge of the many conditions that kids can acquire and suffer from, and also articles on more general topics, like good nutrition and healthy habits.
Before my training as a nurse began (in my forties), I graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor's degree in journalism I worked prior to my marriage as a reporter for the Dover (N.J.) Daily Advance (now defunct) where I wrote a number of feature articles, ran the consumer hot line, and covered some of the local news. I also wrote a newsletter for parents at my school. I stay current regarding health issues by subscribing to several nursing magazines and health newsletters.
I also visit reliable websites, such as Web MD, to stay informed. I am married to another retiree, and have two grown children.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing viola in an orchestra, art lessons, reading, and playing the piano.
